Why Would I Need A Coach? +

Ask yourself........

  • Do I have difficulty communicating what I want to my superiors, peers and staff?
  • Do I find it hard to communicate my decisions to my staff?
  • Do I feel overwhelmed by work or a new promotion?
  • Do I shy away from making decisions?
  • Do I delegate or resist delegation?
  • Do I prioritise my tasks accurately and honestly?
  • Do I really have the skills to influence others? Can I display assertiveness by discussing, arguing and negotiating any topic I choose?
  • Do I really defend my time against those who may waste it?
  • Do I lack breathing space?
  • Do I suffer from stress? Do I spend my Sundays worrying about Monday morning?
  • Do I have a plan for life; goals for growing my career or business and being happy?
  • Do I try to balance my work life against my personal life?
  • Do I want to work smarter and not harder?

If one or more of these questions apply to you, then my communications coaching will work for YOU.

What Is Coaching? +

Coaching can be many things, but it is not counselling. Counselling can be viewed as looking back, and coaching viewed as looking forward. In a challenging yet supportive environment I will work with you on your journey. Through my coaching I assist you to look forward, make action plans, set objectives and work towards achieving your goals. I will use plain language with you. We will agree and we will disagree. The environment in which I coach will be open, honest, nurturing and confidential. I will challenge you as to your held beliefs and lead you towards possible solutions.

"Who exactly seeks out a coach? Winners who want more out of life"
Chicago Tribune

How Does Coaching Work? +

My coaching ethos is to keep it simple. I will provide you with simple achievable solutions to your complex issues. The solutions I lead you to will be within your existing skill set, easy to habit-form and achieve success with.

Often as not the Coachee will just require an impartial third party, the coach, with whom to set out their story. Often the simple act of listening to your issues and then voicing an impartial and objective opinion can bring clarity to a seemingly impossible situation.

You will hold all of the answers to your goals, through asking you the right questions I will unlock your true potential. You will grant me “nagging rights” within our sessions. If there is a requirement to do so I will be absolutely honest, although always in a nurturing environment and with your best interests in mind in achieving your goals.

"A coach is part advisor, part sounding board, part cheerleader,
part manager and part strategist."
The Business Journal

Why Do I Need Goals In My Coaching? +

Imagine my stated goal is to drive to your house. I do not know your address or even your county. I know nothing about you. But my stated goal is to visit your house.

If I drive around for long enough I will find your house. It may take me a couple of decades to visit every house in Ireland but I should be successful – or maybe not. With this plan it is highly unlikely I will be successful.

Or I could put a plan in place to make my goal a reality.

I will ask you for directions, programme my sat-nav and be there within a few hours.

With good planning in place I can be assured of the achievement of a goal instead of decades and decades of repeated failure.

And the lesson is... putting plans in place to achieve your goals really works.

“Become addicted to constant and never-ending self improvement.”
Anthony J D’Angelo

How Many Coaching Sessions Will I Require? +

The coaching requirements of each person will be different. However as a rule of thumb, most issues can be identified, and a realistic action plan put in place within three one hour sessions.

My Offering to You As A Coach....

Numerous individuals and organisations have availed of my coaching services to develop the human capital that is the life blood of all organisations. According to the Harvard Business Review; "The goal of coaching is the goal of good management: to make the most of an organisation's valuable resources."

My modus operandi is to banish the negative and accentuate the positive habits that control your work life. My methods are simple yet effective. By becoming self-aware you can then gain clarity and objectivity and gain a new sense of direction and purpose in your work life leading in turn to real and lasting change.
